Me and 5 friends have a traveling club together, we save some money each month and go on a trip together. We have been saving for 2 years now, and in october we went on our first long weekend together. Our choise this time was Gdansk in Poland.
When we took of from Kvernberget airport in Kristiansund, friday morning at 06.30 am, the weather was not so nice, rain and wind, and after a few seconds in the air we heard a big bang on the left wing. After a couple of minutes the captain said that the lightning had struck the wing. But there was no damage, so we headed to Oslo without any more problems, and landed in a beautiful sunrise.
It was still early and we had a little time on the airport before the next flight. We needed something to drink, and started with coffee/hot chocolate, and then headed to the next restaurant and had a glas of wine or a beer. (It's not so often i drink beer at 9am in a friday morning... )
We had booked rooms at Hotel Grand Cru, a 4 stars hotel almost in the middle of the town. The hotel was newly renovated and very nice. Highly recommended! And it had great service. When we were installed in our rooms it was around noon, so we took a taxi for an outlet mall. A huge mall with cheap goods from the summer and last year's winter. We didn't by so much things there. However, the next day we walked around in the city and found a mall with new products. And ended up with some more bags that day.
In the evenings we went to different restaurants, eating great food. The only dissapointment we had on this trip was this restaurant, the Red door, which has good reviews on the internet. A small and cozy restaurant with only a few tables. But there were several dishes on the menue that they did not have, and the food we eventually choosed did not taste that good.
Some pictures of the town. A nice and clean city, I would not mind going back there some day.
